Visualising your goals

When I was a child, I used to daydream a lot. A myriad of visuals would enter my imaginary screen whenever I was playing outside or riding on a bus. Any time spent on my own was destined for my higher self to “switch on” and watch my channel.

No matter what was going on in my life in those days, I would instantly feel better watching my movie. That was my sacred time and my favourite time!

Everything was beautiful, peaceful, happy, and calming in my movie.

I was the main character, director, producer, sound engineer, and screenwriter.

Nothing was off limits; in my imagination, I was a confident, strong, intelligent, eloquent speaker, brave, courageous, and fearless.

My imagination was my peaceful oasis.

My mum didn't understand the purpose of constant daydreaming, and she would frequently remind me to come back to Earth and face reality.

The fascinating thing was that although I didn't know it back then, constantly engaging with my imagination and building my dream helped me to achieve my dream life.

Shortly after becoming an adult, my father passed away, so I had to wake up and face my reality. I told myself to stop dreaming since serious people don't walk around with their heads in the clouds. And I consider myself serious.

It was hard initially because I loved engaging with my imagination and stepping into my miracle bubble where everything was possible.

Embarking on my path of self-discovery, I noticed the importance of visualising your goals first. You probably heard people saying: "I can't see myself doing that," or I can see myself doing that."

The difference between saying YES or NO before deciding is the image on our mental screen.

It is paramount to have dreams, and set goals and intentions, to enhance your life experience.

Regardless of age, dreams, goals, visions, and intentions are essential for a comprehensive life experience.

Having a goal motivates you to get out of bed in the morning and makes you want to support others achieve their goals because you know how much your goal means to you.

As an adult, you might find it challenging to visualise your goals.

Especially If you had many negative past experiences, you are inclined to ask yourself the question:

What's the point?

Well, I'm sure of one thing: never give up on your dreams! You've come here to experience them and to inspire others to do the same.

The best way to bring your goals into fruition is to carve out some quiet time for yourself and ask the following questions:

1. What do I want from my life?

2. What do I want to experience in this lifetime?

3. Am I expressing my authentic self at this moment?

Give yourself permission to sit with these questions and allow the answers to come up to the surface.

Most people fall into the trap of setting goals that come from the egoic mind. These goals most times feel unfulfilling. Why? Because you will never be able to please your ego.

I know people find it hard to admit they have an ego, but we all do.

Setting goals aligned with your heart and soul will supply the inner peace, freedom, balance, and harmony you are constantly searching for.

The moment you are clear on your goals, the whole Universe will conspire, support, orchestrate and help you to achieve them.

How do you know if your goals are coming from your ego?

Well, if all you do is because you want to impress or prove something to someone, then most likely that that’s coming from your ego.

Your heart and soul never feel the need to prove or impress anyone.

Once you are clear on your goals, which some people find harder to decide on their own - hence they seek the help and support of a coach or mentor, you can begin to visualize that you have already achieved them. Merely allow them to appear on your mental screen.

Notice how you feel, how you breathe, how you smile, and how you respond to others knowing that you have achieved your goals.

.One of the easiest ways to experience this is during a guided visualisation meditation.

Life is a rollercoaster, and you will have many moments when you might feel that your cart got stuck in the middle of nowhere, with your mind twisting at a standstill.

What's invisible here is the ego's veil.

Everything is in constant movement all the time.

Everything is energy.

Trust that life is working for you and not against you.

Wow! A big one, I know.

Trusting.

Trust that life will unfold magnificently and magically for you, with everything moving towards your highest good.

You never question where the next breath is coming from, do you?

You always trust that it will be here when needed. Can you trust life in the same way?

We do not have much control over our lives. Nonetheless, we are in charge of our thoughts and the way we choose them. The moment we figure out a plan of how we would like our life to unfold, we must step back and enjoy the ride. No pushing and no fighting, surrendering to a higher force.

If you do this, your life will be even more beautiful than you can imagine. Our minds can not see all the myriad options for our goals to unfold. The logical mind has its limits.

Overall, things don’t work out the way we imagine them to. Somewhat, they work out even better. Our responsibility is to visualise, take action, and surrender. Trusting that a higher force will step in, take over and manifest everything for our highest good.

When I think of my life, my childhood dreams and goals were small compared to my achievements.

Although I would like to broach that at the time I was dreaming, all my dreams looked massive to me.

But I never questioned how to achieve them.

I always trusted that I will.

And you can do the same
